From Dublin Airport to your accommodation

Emerald airport transfer

Book your Emerald transfer before arrival for a straightforward journey from Dublin Airport to your accommodation. Include your flight details and arrival date when contacting the bookings team.

Travelling independently

You can take a taxi or an Aircoach service from outside the arrivals hall. Dublin Airport’s tourist information point is located in Terminal 1 if you need help after landing.

Your First Day

A warm welcome at Palmerston Park

Arrive at 8:30

Come to Emerald Cultural Institute at Palmerston Park. A host family will accompany you or show you the route; residence information will include directions to Emerald.

Bring your essentials

Bring a pen and paper, plus a laptop or tablet so you can access Emerald’s digital learning materials.

Meet your academic team

A member of the academic team will welcome you and guide you to the correct classroom.

Discover Dublin

After the welcome presentation, the orientation helps you learn about student life, the city, Leap Cards and SIM cards.
Immigration

Check the rules that apply to your journey

Requirements depend on your nationality, course length and permission type. Check the official Immigration Service Delivery guidance before travelling and use the conditions attached to your own permission as the final authority.

EU, EEA, UK & Swiss students

You do not normally need Irish immigration permission to study, but you should travel with valid identity documents and check any requirements that apply to your route.

  • Confirm travel requirements before departure

Other nationalities

Depending on your nationality, you may need an entry visa. Students intending to reside in Ireland for more than 90 days must follow the applicable registration process with Immigration Service Delivery.

  • Keep your enrolment, fee and insurance documents ready
  • For stays over 90 days, review the first-registration process
